This was the second plush I had made for Genki Gear and the largest I have ever made. This was very challenging and it was a gift for Genki Gear. This was presented to them at MCM London Expo.
The pattern of the plush was quite simple, it was the sewing that was time consuming. Each body part of constructed separately and the put together. Like many plush toys, the limbs and his ears was not only stuffed with toy stuffing but also had beads as well.
As Genki Gear specialises in T-Shirt designs, I wanted to create my own t-shirt for the plush, otherwise, it would look rather strange. I wanted something that would symbolize me, the plush maker.
I came up with the idea of using a doll head. The t-shirt was from a high street store which I cut up so that it would fit the plush. Then I made my logo using felt and iron-on webbing to produce the t-shirt logo.
To complete the plush toy, I cross-stitched the label of Plushie Central and sewn it onto the back of his ear. Now once I had completed the plush, carrying it to the event was most challenging and people were wondering what it was.
